Above in the branches there is a sudden shudder. Leaves rain down upon the footpath below. Another trembling, and a notebook stuffed with loose pages hits the ground with a thud.
“Excuse me...” A hand pushes aside foliage to reveal a thin, greying gentleman sprawled on a sturdy branch. There is a pencil stuck behind his ear and he is without overcoat. Upon closer inspection, you can see a well-worn brown coat hung on one of the lower branches. “Dreadfully sorry. Thank goodness that did not hit anyone. Could you hand me up my book, please? If it’s not too much trouble. Again, I do apologize...”
